Fabulously coked-up performance.
He had to dance like that, the family jewels were overheating cos of the super funky guitars and beat plus he knew he was going to the " Fonz"!
Love this look on David Bowie New Romantics look was just around the corner of the early 1980s miss him so much he was such a legend
Hors du commun en tout point ❤
Somehow Bowie and Dinah Shore just don't seem to gel...but it beats the Christmas special he did with Bing Crosby. Life is strange.
Whats with the audio drop outs? :(
I love his image at this time the hair colour and the style
His interaction with the karate guy is not to be missed!
Bowie superstar Legend
Class
The Fonz got to introduce Bowie with Shore! Lucky Fonzy.
luv
Bowie and Dinah Shore is the most anarchistic moment for TV short of Mike Douglas show hosts...playing this space jazz disco prog for housewives😂
I actually remember this show. "Stay" is one of my favorite Bowie tunes, so relatable, so timeless.
Le plus grand !!! Pour l’éternité !!!
I forget how Dense adults were in the 60-70s. As a child of that era, I remember the frustrations listening to these people Used to drive me crazy. One of the draw backs of those times. Unsophisticated maniacs everywhere. Not much has changed, come to think about it.
That's great hearing that old tele.
song writing of the highest caliber - what a way to tell a story
I thought he sang Five Years too
The band are from 1976 but Bowie definitely back from the future
Wow the interview halfway through is something else. Love how laid back and free form 70s talk shows were. Something got lost when hosts started playing a more energetic role in the discussion.
Agreed! Only Carson was at the helm of his show and somehow stayed intimate. But Bowie…yeah Bowie on Dinah? This is so awesome. I saw him in 78 at the Forum in L.A. Like being in a dream for 2 hours! ❤
*Appreciate 70s Bowie a LOT. Though I'm tired of hearing about performers who claim to be utterly shy. Just not buying it*
Modern masters.
The cameraman should have caught way more of that fancy footwork!
He a piece of work .. the humility shines through .. a fine pewter ..
So that's where Travolta got his dance moves!
Doctored up with electronic lighting....We do our best...
Dancing in loons is the coolest thing
What I wouldn't have given to have seen Ziggy meet the Fonze.
Beyond just a brilliant artist, David was also a true gentleman. If you notice, he sees Dinah to her seat before sitting himself 06:20
I think 600 million people have Bowie t-shirts
Nice interview. Cool that so many people are together talking. It's just, why have everyone come in one by one at later time? Sitting at the back waiting for your turn must be dreadful, especially for the last woman who went on. It was like she was only there for 2 minutes then the show was over, of course there was probably a commercial break but still.
The fact he played......"5 YEARS" on the Dinah Shore Show" Was UNHEARD OF. HE PRETTY MUCH DISTANCED HIM SELF FROM "ZIGGY". AWESOME !! 😎😎😎 Ziggy was the album EVERYONE HAD! Even if you weren't a fan.
Where's the high quality? 🥰🥰
crying like a human
This is quintessential seventies. A musical genius on a daytime talk show happened all the time.
Henry Winkler was still producing content millions of people watched(Barry), until just a few years ago, and sadly is one of the few people on this show who's even still alive. Dinah Shore is one of the most underrated in broadcast skill and to boot most adorable women to ever appear on legacy mass media. Do we even need to discuss how great Bowie is? Didn't think so. Chef's kiss to the uploader. You should have 20 factor more subs than you do.
Mi sueño es bailar como David Bowie.
This would be his band over his next 4 albums. It is cool to hear Carlos singing backing vocals as well as playing rhythm guitar.
Bowie was Genius forevermore ❤
Wow, what a time capsule. 😊
For far too many years I've tried to recall not only the name of a song by David Bowie based on a little bit of it in my mind. So here it is, after decqdes of wonder, now, on February 17, 2014 it appears while I am " browsing the net". To make matters even more intriguing, at least to me, I am visiting a place that is very very special to me and where some pretty unusual things have taken place....❤
Can't help it but I hear shades of Fame.😊
Hey!....coke head....lol
Yeppers
So I understand. 😊
The song was rubbish to be honest...
